A Brief Look At the History of Massage 

Massage and Bodywork is perhaps the oldest form of medical care dating back 5000 years. Writings on massage and bodywork have been found in many ancient civilizations including Greece,India,Japan,China Egypt,Mesopotamia and Rome. Massage has also been noted as being used in Native American healing practices. Later on in Europe massage did surface but was quickly replaced by medical technology and pharmacology. In the 19th Century in Europe massage emerged once again and still holds a strong place as a healing art. in the early 20th century in America massage was known as only a luxury for the rich. In the latter half of the 20th century  a new interest has revitalized the massage industry bringing it back to hold once again it's respectable place as a holistic healing art. With it's 5000 year old history one can acknowledge that massage has survived for one good reason:
